December 2016 – Project Update

A fire occurred within the sub-station compound  of the Sliabh Bawn Wind Farm in the early hours of December 1^st .  A member of the Sliabh Bawn on-site security team immediately raised the alarm and units from Strokestown, Lanesboro &  Roscommon Fire Service attended the site and extinguished  the fire.  Sliabh Bawn Power DAC can confirm that there were no injuries to any persons and no consequential damage to either the main sub-station, adjoining construction compound, the wind farm, or the adjoining forestry. An investigation into the exact cause of the fire is now underway.  The Sliabh Bawn project team would like to thank the Fire Services for their quick response and work over the course of the night.
